We are often asked about our involvement in the community. For example, "What does The Church at Argyle do for underprivileged children?" Or, "How is The Church at Argyle involved in caring for the homeless?"
Good questions.
We decided we would not replicate ministries already doing a great job serving needs in our community. Instead, we direct people toward participation in organizations that are already doing far more within their spheres of influence to meet needs than we would be able to do.
Below are some organizations doing a great job meeting needs in our community. If one of them captures your heart, contact them directly to see how you can best serve their needs.
We encourage families and Life Groups to get involved in these Acts of Mercy together.
"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat;
I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink;
I was a stranger and you took Me in;
I was naked and you clothed Me;
I was sick and you took care of Me;
I was in prison and you visited Me.'
Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see You a stranger and take you in, or without clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and visit you?'
And the King will answer them, 'I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.'"
