The Dorcas Ladies, unlike any of our other LifeGroups, meet Sunday morning at the church. They are mostly Senior Ladies of the church, but all ladies are welcome.
In Acts 9:36, we learn that, "In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha, which is translated "Dorcas." She was always doing good works and acts of charity." (Tabitha is Aramaic, and Dorcas is Greek, for "gazelle") In much the same way, our Dorcas Ladies are involved in good works and acts of charity, along with their study and good fellowship.
For many years, the Dorcas Ladies have taken the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions as their special project. They have several fund raisers each year and solicit contributions from their members and others for this important activity. They have averaged over $4,000 per year with their hard work and devotion. They also provide special treats for us on Mothers Day and Fathers Day, and provide gifts for our graduating high school seniors.
If you would like to visit the Dorcas Ladies, contact the office, or on Sunday morning check with anyone wearing an ASK ME badge.
